Roles-responsibilities

The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (I-EA-T)

is a state enterprise under the Ministry of Industry, be established according to the Revolutionary Council Announcement No.339 dated December 13, 1972 and enacted as the I-EA-T Act, B.E. 2522. Subsequently having an Amendment (2nd version), B.E. 2534, an Amendment (3rd version), B.E. 2539, an Amendment (4th version), B.E. 2550 and revised additional Amendment (5th version), B.E. 2562, to expand the scope of area development from the industry sector to the service sector. Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand is responsible for the development and establishment of industrial estates by organizing areas for industrial factories to stay together in a systematic and orderly manner, and as a government mechanism to distribute industrial development into all regions across the country, by using "Industrial Estate" a s a tool to implement.

Industrial Estate

Industrial Estate mean an area of land that be allocated for industrial factories to stay together in a systematic, orderly and proportion manner, which consisting of an Industrial Area, Facilities, Utilities and utilities complete as Needs, such as Roads, Sewers, Central Wastewater Treatment Plants, Flood Protection System, Electricity System, Water Supply System and Telephone System. In addition, also be consisting with other necessary services such as Post offices, Telegraphy, Banks, Shopping centers, Residential Area for Workers, Gas stations, etc.

Missions of I-EA-T

  • Establishing industrial estates, encouraging and supporting private individuals or government organizations for Establishment of industrial estate, carrying out other businesses which are beneficial to, or connected with the undertaking within scope of I-EA-T's objectives.

  • Providing and servicing essential public utilities and facilities system that accommodate to industrial estate operation's.

  • Encouraging and supporting private individual to invest and provide services in essential public utilities and facilities that accommodate industrial estate operation.

  • Arranging Environmental management systems and Industrial disaster's prevention and mitigation system.

  • Approving and Authorizing operations in the industrial estates and providing relevant additional Privileges, Incentive, and Facilitation for industrial operations.

The role of the Industrial Estate

  • To providing complete production factors for making quality products and can be competitive in the world class market.

  • Be the state's mechanism for distributing industry and spreading prosperity across all regions in the country.

  • Be the state's mechanism for maintaining and promoting the quality of an environment which is resulting from industries.

  • Be the state's mechanism for preventing and mitigating any accidents caused by industries.

  • Be the state's mechanism for organizing the system and regulations of land using in a specific area and be a part of city planning including land usage planning.

  • Be the state's mechanism for supporting and promoting General industries, Export industries and including Basic industries.

One Stop Services

The I-EA-T has established an One Stop Service Center (OSS) to provide one-stop service, from start to finish, in doing business with the I-EA-T., Whether providing service of Giving advice for buying or renting land, Recommending suitable area to set up a factory, Approving any required permits and certificates, for making an establishment of factory become easily at every step, or even in the development and establishment of industrial estates together with the I-EA-T.

The Development

At present, the I-EA-T has a total of 65 industrial estates, which are in operating, scattering in 16 provinces, consists of 15 self-operating industrial estates by the I-EA-T, and 50 joint-operating industrial estates that operating together with developers.
